Thassos, Greece

If we were more content,
more open to the enjoyment of existing,
we would feel the pleasure
of cicadas creaking their legs,
of the nightingale in song and silence,
of the rose blooming…
then fading in rich earth colors.
And when we went to swim
in the crystal clear sea
we would feel
our own primal clarity
and sigh, and thank
the Great Love
and sink deeper in Love.
And then our contentment
would naturally overflow, if we pleased,
in a rich feast of creative
exuberance to make Life
more beautiful
for all creatures and beings
here in this miraculous world.
