CONTENTMENT

If we were more content,
more open to the wonder of existing,
we would feel the pleasure
of cicadas creaking their legs,
of the nightingale in song and silence,
of the rose blooming ā€”
then fading in rich earth colors.
And when we went to swim
in the crystal clear sea
we would feel
our own clarity
and sigh, and thank
the Great Love
and grow deeper in Love.
And then our contentment
might overflow
in a rich feast of creative
goodness to make Life
even more beautiful
for all creatures and beings
here in this miraculous world.
