RECREATING THE SACREDNESS OF THE NATURAL

There is a spiritual pathway that is just the opposite of our current economic/social patterns of ever increasing wealth generated by ever increasing consumption. It is a pathway into a profound simplicity of life for the sake of lightness and freedom; an increasing clarity of mind through realizations of the Real; an expanding Love of heart through a growing state of sensitivity to the beauty of all that is natural and good. This way opens to us through an astonishing discovery that we love what we love in life just because in some way it gives us a taste of the essence of what we all most truly are: through that song, or that gadget, or that place, or that person, we sense the freedom, beauty and joy that is the very pure nectar of Existence.

These times of collapse and uncertainty have thrust upon us the imperative of a massive change of perception much greater than politics or current religious paradigms can give. It is time to make the old practices of getting in touch with the depths of our soul — opening right down into the essence of Light within us — as high a priority in our daily lives as brushing our teeth. This is the soul hygiene we should have been taught as children.

There are countless ways to open. It is just about surrendering past the defense mechanisms that we built to shield our primal, tender, sensitive, open, innocence of being. Meditation is simply practicing this openness; it is the process of re-sensitizing of our being to the miracle and gift of Life, and most especially to Love’s magical and majestic nature. In Western spirituality what the East calls mediation is called waiting on God. It is the exact same state of entering awakened awareness beyond the symbol making of the mind, re-gathering all our powers of presence to this unfolding moment, and here — now, now, now —opening wide to the primal purity of Divine Presence, washing in it, knowing nothing but the unfolding wonder of Life freely happening.

The results of this practice of re-gathering and sensitizing our selves are so abundant, diverse and far reaching, for when our awareness opens, all Life changes for us. These results include: the recovery of delight; spontaneous gratitude — which is the essence of happiness — continual inspiration leading to creative profuseness, and the capacities to bring healing relationships to all our relationships: to our own soul, with others, and most importantly, to the very Source of all Existence, for it is this super alive, peaceful, loving, free Source that wakes us up to the reality that Life is actually, forever, One and that what we call Love is the harmonious happening of this Oneness.

Oh, Let’s wake up! Let’s get growing and flowing. Let’s come fully Alive! Let’s fall in Love, live in Love, let Love have its wise, healing, beauty-making ways. Let’s get with it now!
